The brief
A specimen dealer isn't a shop: nothing is restocked, prices are often on request, and the back catalogue is the proof of expertise. The site had to present each tree like a gallery piece and turn browsing into a serious enquiry.
What the site does
- An opening where an ensō paints itself, becomes the O in the logo, and glides up into the header
- Specimens, collections, exhibitions and venues all managed from the content editor
- Available, reserved and sold status per tree, with sold trees kept as a visible track record
- Generated bonsai artwork in each tree's seasonal colours until photography arrives
